Re: 2006
Wed, January 25, 2006 - 3:11 PMGetting our dome up and living in it this year. It's been on the board for over 10 years now. We got the slab poured last fall, but now the snow is slowing us down. -

Re: 2006
Sun, February 19, 2006 - 6:18 PMUpdate:
The riser walls are up and the first row of struts are done. Yahoooooooooo! Oh yeah, it was snowing while we worked on the struts. Sometimes the melted snow would freeze on the slab. Ice skating anyone? -

Re: 2006
Tue, February 21, 2006 - 9:49 AMI put up a couple. The view from our wind tower is one of the best. I have to say that I only see it in the pics since I can't get to the top of the tower, yet. Hubby took the picture. -

Tue, February 21, 2006 - 2:47 PMCool stuff I changed it to the main foto. I may have to wind up reposting this photo. For some reason the charachter string for the address has the letter "AD" in it and my browswer is blocking the image, I'll repost it if anyone else is having trouble seeing the image if not then I'll leave it be.
I'm excited to see the birth of a new dome! What are the dimensions? -

Re: 2006
Tue, February 21, 2006 - 4:54 PMI have trouble seeing the photos I post when on tribe. So do what ever you need to.
This is a 45' 5/8ths dome from Timberline Geodesics. There is an extension for the kitchen and a small one for the front entry way. It's got 2 floors with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The slab is the floor which has hydronics in it.
We are hoping to get the rest of the struts up this weekend. Hubby is trying to find the wheels for the scafolding so that we don't scratch up the slab. -

Re: 2006
Wed, April 26, 2006 - 10:55 AMPlodding along. The weather has not been cooperative when we have the time. But.........all of the struts are in and hubby has been working on the bisect/T blocking. Supposed to be nice this weekend, so hopefully we will be able to get most of those in. Then it's on to the studs. No one ever said that this could be done overnight. Still, it's nice when your friends can come out and help. Puts a good vibe in the house.

Re: 2006
Tue, October 17, 2006 - 3:13 PMBeen a while since I posted and it has been extremely slow going. All of the plywood is on and half of the skylights are framed in. Should be able to get the rest done if the weather holds. Looks like we will be tarping it up for the winter. -

Sun, December 24, 2006 - 10:05 PMWow! Checked out the fresh photos, looks like things are coming along!
I'm really impressed and kinda jealous (but in a good way) I'm very happy to see your dream coming along.
So are you learning alot about carpentry? -

Re: 2006
Tue, December 26, 2006 - 7:40 PMBasic carpentry is helpful, but having a working knowledge of geometry is a must. The nice thing about the kitchen is that it is easy to nail off. Finished putting on the plywood today and am almost done nailing it off. The roof of the kitchen has a lovely silver tarp on it. More pics as soon as we have some sunshine again.

Sun, November 26, 2006 - 8:58 PMWow can you believe it. 2006 is almost over.
I have some fresh content coming. I've been doing research and more research and yet more research. I've got so many articles I want to write, but I just need to make sure I have all my facts straight first.
